Smog Inspection

A smog check is done on the exhaust system of a motor vehicle to determine how many pollutants, and which type, the vehicle is emitting. It also includes an assessment of other parts of the vehicle to make sure they are in working order.

We only smog vehicles model year 2000 and newer!

      Official Smog Inspection

California requires all vehicles to undergo a smog inspection EXCEPT:

-Gasoline-powered vehicles model year 1975 and older

-Natural gas-powered vehicles weighing over 14,000 lbs

-Diesel powered vehicles that:

     - are model year 1997 and older

     - Have a gross weight rating over 14,000 lbs

-Electric vehicles

-Hybrid vehicles

-Motorcycles

-Trailers

      Pre-Inspection

The pre-inspection shows if a car will pass or fail without officially recording the results with the state's registry of motor vehicles.

Pre testing your vehicle before its scheduled official smog test lets you prepare in advance for expenses and inconveniences, if any, that await you when you go in for the real thing.
